Caught red-handed couple preparing to butcher a tiger weighing 145 kg

On May 28, news from the Environmental Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that the unit had just coordinated with the Thuong Xuan District Police to dismantle a line of wild animals (tiger) to cook and sell for a profit.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation and collected documents and evidence, the Environmental Police Department coordinated with the Thuong Xuan District Police to catch the Do Van Lan couple red-handed (SN 1974; living in Thong Nhat 2 village, commune). Xuan Duong, Thuong Xuan district) and some other people are preparing to butcher a tiger at home to cook it.

On the spot, the police force seized a tiger weighing 145 kg (dead), being preserved in frozen form. Searching the residence, the police seized an additional 5 kg of animal bones, 36 pieces of tiger bone (10 kg), 6 animal claws and many utensils used for cooking.

Through struggle, husband and wife Do Van Lan and Nguyen Thi Oanh confessed to having bought the tiger for 130 million VND from an unknown man.

Artifacts seized by the police

Expanding the case, the police force verified and clarified that the seller of the tiger was Hoang Van Hien (SN 1974) and Nguyen Van Lieu (SN 1967; living in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province).

Currently, the case is being investigated and expanded by Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.
