BIDV and Vietinbank have also piloted a service for customers to withdraw money from ATMs using a chip-mounted CCCD. Banks cooperate with the Center for Research and Application of Population Data, CCCD of the Ministry of Public Security to jointly deploy this service. According to BIDV, up to now, NH has implemented transactions using CCCD chips at 8 CRM and Ezone automated teller machines in Hanoi.

“Application of CCCD chip authentication solution increases convenience, convenience and safety for customers when transacting at ATMs. Customers can use CCCD chip to authenticate before choosing an existing card and authenticate. PIN to make deposit/withdrawal transactions at ATM” – BIDV representative said.

Minimize the risk of losing money

With the chip-based CCCD withdrawal service, a representative of Vietinbank said that the use of CCCD chips will reduce all risks of card forgery, ensuring maximum safety in financial transactions. When a customer scans a CCCD chip at an ATM, the system immediately checks and compares the information on the CCCD chip, ensures accurate information and continues to authenticate the owner’s information through biometric data matching by face and fingerprint scanning. Information verification time is only 6-8 seconds with each transaction. Also according to a representative of Vietinbank, customers who have just converted from ID card to CCCD chip but have not updated their information with the bank can still make withdrawals.

Regarding security and safety in the process of transaction, payment, and service use, according to BIDV, the entire process of customer identification and authentication with CCCD chip is used by BIDV using solutions and technological equipment provided by the Ministry of Finance. provided by the police. Based on the CCCD chip authentication results from this solution, BIDV only receives the results without saving any personal information of the customer during the transaction. Therefore, minimizing the leakage and spreading of customer information. The transaction authentication by CCCD chip must ensure 3 factors: CCCD chip; face/fingerprint biometric matching authentication with CCCD chip stored data; verify the PIN of the card that the customer has selected for the transaction. In case of loss of CCCD chip card, strangers are also not able to use CCCD chip to make withdrawals due to failure to authenticate the biometric matching and card PIN number)…

With the deposit/withdrawal service via CCCD at Digimi+ automated banking system, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thao, Deputy Director of Information Technology Division, Ban Viet Bank, explained that this system is using 3-layer security technology. take customer’s CCCD for comparison; capture the customer’s face with a photo on CCCD to authenticate and connect to an account opened at Ban Viet; Transaction authentication via SMS or Smart OTP on digital banking application. Therefore, the risk of counterfeiting and leaking customer information is very low. “We have tested that in case of sudden power failure, the machine still releases CCCD to the owner. In case CCCD is swallowed due to machine failure, customers go to the counter to confirm signature and compare face authentication. to get CCCD back,” explained Mr. Thao.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Public Security, the solution to automatically authenticate customers’ biometric information with data stored at CCCD chip helps to increase accuracy, safety and reduce risks compared to other customers. traditional comparison methods – compare with the naked eye the ID photo with the customer’s face at the counter.

Widespread deployment

Mr. Le Anh Dung, Deputy Director General in charge of Payment Department, State Bank, informed that about 5 banks are piloting cash withdrawal by CCCD chip in Hanoi, Quang Ninh… According to Mr. Dung, after the first phase In the pilot phase, in order to continue to expand to apply to banks and many other localities, it is necessary to have more specific policies from the Government related to electronic authentication to ensure the safety of withdrawal transactions. The chip-mounted CCCD when used at ATMs now has demographic information, biometrics, fingerprints, and faces… so the possibility that high-tech criminals can steal information is very low.
