After 11 am – Ramos shot his grandmother in the face, according to Texas Director of Public Safety Steve McCraw.

Gilbert Gallegos, 82, who lives across the street from the Ramos family, heard gunfire in his yard. He ran to the front and saw Ramos speeding up in a pickup, while Ramos’ grandmother was walking towards him begging for help.

“The old woman is covered in blood,” said Gallegos. Gallegos’ wife called the police to report the shooting.

11:27 am – A teacher, whose identity has not been released by the authorities, is opening the door outside the school, McCraw said.

11:28 am “This teacher went out to get a phone and then came back through the exit door that was still open,” McCraw said. It is not clear why the teacher took the phone. Department of Public Safety spokesman Travis Considine said on May 26 that investigators have yet to determine why the door was left open.

11:28 am – Ramos crashed the pickup truck into the drainage ditch behind the school, McCraw said. Two men at a nearby funeral home heard the crash and ran outside to see what had happened. They saw Ramos jump out of the cabin carrying an AR-15 rifle and a bag full of ammunition. Ramos shot them but didn’t hit. One of the men fell, but both made it back to the funeral home. A panicked teacher then ran out of the school and called 911.

11:30 am – 911 received a call saying there was an accident and a man was holding a gun at the school, McCraw said.

11:31 am Ramos started shooting from the school parking lot as police cars started arriving at the funeral home, McCraw said. Ramos then walks around the school.

The school police officer who was on duty that day was not on campus at this time, contrary to previous reports, McCraw said May 27. The officer drove to the school “immediately” after receiving a 911 call and approached someone at the back of the school he thought was the gunman. As the officer darted towards the man, the man turned out to be a teacher.

11:32 am – Ramos fired multiple shots at the school and then walked towards the open door.

11:33 am – Five minutes after crashing the pickup, Ramos entered the school and began shooting at two adjoining classrooms, 111 and 112, McCraw said. In total he fired more than 100 rounds.

11:35 am – Three police officers entered the school through the same door Ramos used, followed by four other officers, McCraw said, a total of seven officers who entered the building. McCraw said two officers were injured by Ramos’ bullets.

11:37 am – The gunfire continued, a total of 16 rounds were fired, McCraw said. It is not clear who shot.

11:51 am – A police sergeant and several other law enforcement forces begin to arrive.

12:03 pm – A woman (age unknown) called 911 and whispered she was in classroom 112, McCraw said. The call lasted 1 minute 23 seconds.

12:03 pm – The officers continued to enter the school, about 19 officers in the hallway near the room where Ramos was hiding.

12:06 pm – Anne Marie Espinoza, spokeswoman for the Uvalde School District, posted on the Facebook page: “Uvalde CISD Parents: Please note that at this time all schools are on lockdown due to gunfire in the area. Students and staff are safe in the buildings. The buildings are secured and on Lock. Please do not go on campus. As soon as the lockdown is lifted, you will be notified. newspaper. Thank you for your cooperation!”

12:10 pm – The previous woman called 911 again and said that many people died. She called back at 12:13 and then at 12:16 pm, saying there were eight to nine students alive.

12:10 pm – Police forces from Del Rio about 113 kilometers away to assist other law enforcement officers were on the scene, according to the Police Service.

12:15 pm – Members of the US Border Patrol tactical team arrive.

12:19 pm – Another girl in room 111 called 911, then ended the call when a student told her to hang up, McCraw said.

12:21 pm – Ramos opened fire again. The police moved down the hallway.

12:21 pm – Three shots could be heard during the 911 call, McCraw said.

Around this time, the police were stuck in the hallway because both classroom doors were locked and they had to find the key from a school employee.

12:36 pm – A child calls 911 in 21 seconds.

Around this time, a girl called 911 and was asked to stay on the line, according to McCraw. The girl said, “He shot in the door.”

12:43 pm – The girl called on the 911 dispatcher to “send the police here immediately”.

12:46 pm – The girl said she could “hear the police next door”.

12:47 pm – She asked 911 again “please send the police now”.

12:50 pm – Police opened the door with a school employee’s key, entered the classroom and killed Ramos, McCraw said.

12:51 pm – Officers move children out of the classroom.

12:58 pm – The spokesman announced Ramos was killed and the siege was over, Victor Escalon, regional director for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said.
