Entering the restaurant to order food for 170,000 VND, the young man angrily demanded his money back and the police were present

Whether you are a fastidious person or an easygoing person, everyone has once been disappointed with the food at a restaurant. However, it is rare that the situation is so tense that the police have to step in. And yet, that’s exactly what happened when police were called to a Brewers Fayre restaurant after an angry customer complained about a portion of fries he was extremely disappointed in.

Specifically, a diner named James Lewin was “furious” when ordering a dish for £5.79 (equivalent to VND 170,000).

James was very eager to have a delicious meal with his mother, girlfriend and sister at a restaurant at The Drove in Newhaven, East Sussex (UK) on May 23. But when the waiter brought the food out, he was startled to see a plate of fries covered with chili sauce on the dining table. It didn’t have the “delicious” cheese sauce, with sour cream and green onions as advertised on the menu.

When the waiter brought the food out, he was startled to see a plate of fried potatoes covered with chili sauce on the dining table. It didn’t have the “delicious” cheese sauce, with sour cream and green onions as advertised on the menu.

James, from Newhaven, East Sussex, says: “We definitely won’t be going back to that restaurant. It was a bad experience. In addition to the main dish, we had to spend money to order all kinds of “additives”, such as, 1 pound for some extra sauces. In total, we had to spend an extra £5-10 per person.

Yet, as you can see in the photo, the only thing topping the fries is the chili. The dish was brought out and there was really nothing but potatoes and chutney. It’s all terrible.”

James’s family asked the restaurant for a full refund, but were only given 20% of the bill paid. Finally, the police arrived at the scene.

James said: “All the staff at that restaurant pulled out, except for one who remained in the kitchen. One of the chefs was unbelievably rude. I don’t know exactly who called the police. “.

A restaurant representative said James and his family have been informed that some of the items they ordered were not available.

A spokesman named Whitbread said: “Due to an issue with one of the restaurant’s refrigerators, we can confirm that a group of guests were told a small number of items were not available. Guests were told when they ordered fries that there were no items available. sour cream or scallions, they also get refunds for drinks and items they don’t like.

We have tried to come up with alternative solutions. But the guests were still unhappy and the situation escalated which led to our staff having to call the police.

While there have been disappointments here, our staff work hard to provide the best service and abuse is not tolerated under any circumstances.”

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “We were at the restaurant in The Drove, Newhaven following a report of a customer-employee dispute around 10pm on Monday (May 23). We have advised both. both sides and no further charges were brought.”

James posted his story on the social network Facebook and received the support of a large number of netizens.
