FapTV YouTube channel hacked, tricking viewers into giving virtual money

On the morning of May 28, FAPTV’s YouTube channel with more than 13.3 million followers was suddenly hacked. The crooks took control to change the channel name to Tesla US, and posted a livestream video with billionaire Elon Musk talking about virtual currency.

Not only posting videos, the hacker also attached a link with the content of Elon Musk giving digital money to lure users to click on the fake website.

Talking to ICTnews, FapTV’s representative said the incident took place around 9-10 am this morning (May 28). Hackers took over in a short time, renamed the channel and posted videos and links to lure viewers.

Up to now, FapTV team has regained control of the channel and is dealing with technical issues. Tracking shows that FapTV channel has regained its name as well as previously posted videos.

With 13.3 million subs, FapTV is a YouTube channel with a large number of followers in Vietnam with many attractive content attracting millions of views, of which the most famous is the series “Cold rice”.

FapTV side also widely informed the community of followers about the incident. “Due to the policy of not accepting virtual currency ads, hackers were outraged and hacked to control FapTV’s YouTube channel“. At the same time, warn viewers not to visit strange links attached to these videos. “We warn people not to click on live clips on the channel or strange links to help hackers. FapTV’s technical department is working with NASA to get the channel back as soon as possible. This is not the first time a Vietnamese channel has been attacked for cryptocurrency. According to a FapTV representative, in the past 1 year, many channels have encountered this situation.
