Festival of Tuong and Folk Opera closes
Nghe AnThe 2022 Tuong and Folklore Festival closes with three gold medals and five silver medals for works.
After 10 days of competition, festival Tuong and Folk Opera 2022 Closing ceremony in Vinh city, May 28 evening. Writer and playwright Ha Dinh Can – Chairman of the Arts Council – said the event gathered 11 art troupes with 16 plays. 16 plays with colorful historical and modern themes, bearing the imprints of cultural regions.
The organizers awarded 3 gold medals to the plays Stork wings in the storm – Nghe An Provincial Traditional Arts Center, Goddess – Binh Dinh Traditional Art Theater, Story outside of official history – Becoming a king – Vietnam Tuong Theater.

Five Silver medals belong to Going through a stormy day – Ha Tinh Province Traditional Art Theater, Emperor Le Dai Hanh – Traditional Arts Theater of Thanh Hoa Province, Swan shirt – Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, Ho Chi Minh City, Market of life – Hue Opera and Opera Theater, God’s trio – Vietnam Tuong Theater. Three bronze medals belonged to the troupes of the Khanh Hoa Traditional Art Theater, the Quang Nam Opera and the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater.

This year’s festival has hundreds of actors and artists from 11 units with 16 plays (nine plays, seven folk songs). The plays are not limited in topics, each play has a duration of 90-150 minutes, without using scripts written before 2005 and foreign scripts.
The activity of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism this year coincides with the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890-19/5/2022). The festival also aims to summarize and evaluate the artistic quality and performance of the past years and to build a development orientation for professional Tuong and Folklore theater units in the coming years.
