HAGL bid farewell to two foreign soldiers

Gia LaiCenter-back Kim Dong-su had to return to Korea to perform a military dance, while striker Baiano left because he could not meet his professional requirements.

Central defender Kim left HAGL today. According to Korea’s summons, he must be present at his residence to present on May 29. Kim will perform his military service for a period of 18 to 22 months, depending on the unit in which he is stationed.

The Korean midfielder has been playing for HAGL since the 2021 season. The player born in 1995 has good body shape, effective air combat ability and has played 15 matches in the V-League. At the last AFC Champions League, he played all six matches, helping HAGL to take third place in the group containing the big boys of Korea, Japan and Australia.

Striker Baiano Jefferson was brought to the mountain town by coach Kiatisuk at the beginning of the 2022 season on a one-year contract. In the training tournament, he played actively, scoring one goal to help HAGL win the Quang Trung Emperor Cup. However, in the V-League and the AFC Champions League, the Brazilian striker was slow, did not score any goals and made little contribution to HAGL’s play. “My journey has ended with HAGL after five months,” Baiano wrote on his personal page. “I would like to thank the fans, the club president, the players and the coaching staff for supporting me. Grateful and appreciative of the opportunities I have with the team.”

HAGL only has two foreign soldiers left, midfielder Mauricio Teixera and striker Washington Brandao. Coach Katisuk may add one or two foreign players before the V-League returns in July.

The mountain town team is gathering in Ham Rong and will play the Four Heroes Cup in Hai Phong with Hanoi, Viettel, and Hai Phong clubs from June 4 to 10.
