Heavy rain, a series of streets in Hanoi turned into rivers

Thunderstorms are concentrated in Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Thanh Xuan, Hoan Kiem… Many streets and roads are flooded 0.2-0.3 m deep due to rain falling in a short time.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 3 hours, the inner city of Hanoi and surrounding areas will continue to rain with a common rainfall in the range of 20-40 mm.

This rain is likely to flood many inner city streets with a common depth of 0.15-0.25 m; Some streets are likely to flood deeper with a depth of 0.25-0.3 m. However, the streets are only flooded during intense rain and drained as soon as the rain stops.

The meteorological agency said that from the night of May 29 to the night of May 30, the northern mountainous and midland areas received new rains with an amount of 80-120 mm/time, over 150 mm in some places. Hanoi and other provinces and cities in the Northern Delta also appeared showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain locally.
