Lam Dong approved 130 billion dong dredging the Dan Kia reservoir

On May 27, Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee said it had approved the investment project of dredging upstream of Dan Kia reservoir (Lac Duong town, Lac Duong district) with a cost of 130 billion VND. The project is invested by the Lac Duong District Public Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, the implementation period is from 2022 to 2025.

Accordingly, the main item of the project is dredging upstream of the lake bed with an area of ​​​​65.6 hectares in the basin of the main branch of Da Deung stream flowing to the upstream of Dan Kia reservoir. In which, the watershed area has an area of ​​15.3ha which is dredged to create a mud deposition lake, the next area has an area of ​​50.3ha which is dredged to increase the reservoir capacity. The project also includes a new construction of a garbage net system with a length of 320m; the mud transportation road is about 6km long, the mud dump has an area of ​​about 36ha; Garbage collection roads and garbage dumps.

Currently, upstream of Dan Kia Lake has about 200ha of agricultural land, consuming about 2.6 million m3 of water per year. Besides, this area generates a lot of agricultural waste, the risk of water pollution is high, affecting the domestic water supply for people in Da Lat city and Lac Duong district.

Dan Kia – Suoi Vang reservoir was built from 1942-1945, the basin area is about 13,000ha, the average depth is 6m. This is a multi-purpose irrigation project, providing domestic water for people in Da Lat city and Lac Duong district; provide water for irrigation, hydroelectricity and tourism.
