This move comes two days after the news of the school violence incident at the International School Ho Chi Minh City American Academy (ISHCMC-AA), caused a stir on social networks.

According to a parent whose daughter is in grade 7 at ISHCMC-AA, the incident stemmed from a picnic at Ho Tram, Ba Ria – Vung Tau last week. At that time, her daughter and an 8th grade girl had a small quarrel. After school on May 26, her daughter was beaten and punched in the chest by this 8th grade female student on campus. Three other female students who rushed to intervene were also beaten by this girl. This parent said that the teacher saw it but did not intervene.

In the afternoon of the same day, she and some parents whose children were beaten to work at school. According to her, the school suggested that the two sides settle it themselves, saying that the incident happened outside the school. A livestream on this parent’s personal page shows that she went to the school office and talked with some teachers and leaders. Accordingly, the female parent asked to see the girl who beat her child, but the school did not agree.

On the morning of May 29, ISHCMC-AA made a statement about the incident. Accordingly, the school representative said, it is very sad that an incident within the scope of the school’s discipline has been spread on the media and social networks, causing some negative effects on the children involved. nor directly related.

The school believes that a lot of the information given is inaccurate and does not reflect the true nature of the incident. “This information does not accurately represent the cause of the current incident, the process to find out the cause, as well as how the school resolves problems between the parties, restores the students’ legitimate rights and interests. affected students,” said Nate Swenson, principal. The examination results showed that the female student who was beaten did not suffer too much damage to her health, but she had wounds on her hands, difficulty breathing, and scratches on her body. The ISHCMC-AA School said it would not make any further comment on the matter.
