Today, 2 planets “merge” in the sky-Information Technology

(CNN) – At the “peak” phase of the planetary merger event, they are only about half a degree apart.

According to Space, it is a spectacular merger between Mars and Jupiter. Of course, these two planets do not literally “swallow” each other, but in fact they become aligned with respect to the view from Earth at dawn, so it looks like they are merging.

The time when these two planets are close together lasts from the 27th or 28th to the 30th or 31st of May, depending on the time zone of each country.

According to NASA calculations, the two planets will be closest to each other at 8:57 am on May 29, GMT, or 3:57 pm on May 29, Vietnam time. Of course we cannot observe planetary mergers in the morning. Earth’s angle also makes the merger visible only at dawn.

Therefore, in Vietnam, you can admire this special moment at dawn tomorrow, May 30.

Although Mars is closer to Earth, Jupiter – much larger and emitting a silvery golden light – is definitely brighter and overpowers the reds of Mars. This is also the time when the sky is not disturbed by moonlight (new moon phase), so it is very suitable to observe the dance of the planets.

NASA also predicts that in the coming summer, there will be a time when Earthlings will be able to admire a much more interesting sight: 5 planets merging – Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn; while telescopes can see Uranus and Neptune join the “dance”.

Uranus and Neptune are inherently invisible to the naked eye.
