In an interview with Japanese media MyNaviToco shared that the reason for choosing the Collie costume is that the long coat of this breed will obscure his “human” features.

Toco says: “I chose the Collie because it looks like the real thing. I love four-legged animals, especially cute animals. So I made a Collie suit, which is also my favorite breed.”

A representative of Zeppet told MyNavi that the bone structure of dogs was significantly different from that of humans, which took the company’s designers a long time to create as much dog-like costumes as possible.

“We collected photos taken from different angles to be able to recreate the beautiful coat of a Collie and figure out how to keep their coat naturally smooth.” a Zeppet spokesman said.
