Crouching Am – a steel frame house shaped like a flying kite
The steel frame house has the shape of a kite, expressing the desire to develop, fly high and fly far of the previous generation for the next generation.
The house named Ngoa Long Am in Hoa Binh of the family of architect Le Hong Kien is a place where 3 generations live together. He built this house with a steel frame with wooden floors, roofs and walls. The shape of the house is like a flying kite, expressing the dreams and hopes of the previous generation for the next generation.
Architect Le Hong Kien shared that his son was born in 2000, according to the lunar calendar, Canh Thin, symbolizing the dragon in the 12 zodiac signs. At this time, he and his biological father dug a dragon-shaped winding pond and discovered a mineral spring that spewed out 500 blocks of water one day and one night. According to idealism called a dragon vein, for him, whether it is a dragon vein or not is also a good omen, representing growth, reproduction, and proliferation.
So he built this house, putting his thoughts in it for his children. That geyser area, he expanded, built into a large well, in summer as a natural ecological tank. In winter, put duckweed, filter the water.
The entrance to the house has two rows of ancient pomelos. The first floor allows people to experience life under the tree. The 2nd floor experiences life like on a treetop, with a view of four directions, fragrant flowers. The interior is also inspired by the dragon – one of the four spirits of traditional Vietnamese culture.
Wooden house, steel frame with unique kite shape.
2-storey house, like a stilt house. Half of the house lies on the cool pond.
The entrance is shady, tree-lined with rows of antique pomelos. On one side is a fish pond.
The scene is poetic, as beautiful as stepping out of the picture of the house.
The interior space is rustic, warm with simple furniture, limited details. Decorations are carefully collected by the owner, many of them are antiques.
The house has an open design with many window frames, curved iron stairs saving space, and creating a unique beauty for the house. The house is made of steel frame, but the roof and floor are made of wood, so it’s quite cool.
Homeowners put cushions on the floor to make the space more airy, especially limited furniture so that the resting place is quiet, fresh and does not affect sleep. The balcony area is placed with a wooden bath soaked in traditional Chinese medicine of ethnic minorities and a gravel floor for foot massage.
“I hope my family will have an interesting life and experience, enjoy the resort atmosphere at home, so I designed it like a resort,” said Mr. Kien.
Romantic setting, in harmony with nature. The landscape is designed in the spirit of respecting nature, planting trees in the direction of the wind and the development characteristics of each type.
