Detailed schedule

Most of the destinations chosen by families are places near nature, with the sea, a garden for children to experience, or a resort with a play area for children. In each place, they stay at least one night, many places usually 2-3 nights.

On April 21, the family departed from Phu Tho to Vinh City, Nghe An. They stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights to visit the Lotus Village in Uncle Ho’s hometown, have fun at Cua Lo beach, a children’s play area for you to play tram cars, fish…

On April 23, they left Vinh Hue City, stay 2 nights. The experiences here are boating on the Perfume River, listening to Hue folk songs, releasing lanterns, visiting Tu Duc Tomb, Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, An Hien garden house…

On April 25, they moved to Da Nang and Hoi AnQuang Nam, stay here for 3 nights, experience swimming in My Khe beach, visit Linh Ung pagoda on Son Tra peninsula, visit Hoi An ancient town, swim on the river, release lanterns.

On April 28, they went to Quy Nhon, stayed at FLC Quy Nhon, went out to eat in the city. Because it was raining, the whole family could not explore the sights here.

On May 1, the whole family came to Ho Chi Minh City Nha Trang stay for three nights, in which resort and swimming are the main ones. The family also visited the Institute of Oceanography and other downtown destinations.

On May 4, they moved to Phan Thiet city, stayed at a resort in Mui Ne, visited Bau Trang and Ong Dia rock.

On May 6 and 7, the whole family stopped in Vung Tau and arrived at the final destination, Ho Chi Minh City.

On May 9, on the way back to the North, they went to Dak Nong to visit relatives. On 11-14/5, run back to Kon Tum, Hue, Nghe An, Phu Tho and do not visit any other attractions.

During the journey, Ms. Hien’s family was most impressed with Thua Thien Hue because of its friendly, gentle people and many historical attractions. “Especially in Hue, there are many delicious dishes that are cheaper than many other destinations,” Hien said. Her family also loves Vietnam’s sea route, seeing everywhere is beautiful but most impressive in Nha Trang.

Some notes and costs

Because of the small children, the family’s longest journey in a day is 400 km, the rest is only about 200 km, with both resting and driving 4-8 hours. After checking-out the hotel and having lunch, they will depart to the next point, this time the two children can take advantage of sleeping in the car. After resting, the next day will be full time to explore.

When the family chose to go to Vietnam, it was not too hot, but warm enough to experience the sea. On the way and at the entertainment spots, they focus on adding water and fruit to the members to ensure their health. Self-driving cars so they can choose a restaurant far away, as long as there are good reviews. Therefore, during the whole trip, the members did not have digestive problems or colds and fevers.

Traveling with small children, the destinations can be flexibly changed depending on the condition and emotions of each day. They often spend a lot of time at the beach, swimming pool in the hotel. On hot sunny days, priority should be given to resting a lot, instead of driving far away or visiting too many spots.

Hien shared that her family is quite cost-effective. In which, fuel and road costs are about 10 million VND. The cost of the hotel is about 9 million VND, not including 2 nights of stay in Quy Nhon and some places like Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Nong to stay at relatives’ houses. The cost of meals during the journey is about 15 million VND. Ms. Hien shared the savings in food because her family does not like to eat seafood, and mainly eats rice, pho and local specialties. The remaining 12 million VND for sightseeing fees and buying souvenirs.

“My two children have gone black a lot, but they are also strong after the journey. Especially the trip through Vietnam also helps them have natural lessons such as reading numbers from looking at room numbers. Changing the environment, meeting many people also help her older child, who is shy, is now bolder, ready to make new friends,” Hien shared. For her, the age of accompanying the child is not as important as having the whole family have good memories together.
