Yahoo News reported that on May 13, an unnamed man donated 1 million yen (about 182 million VND) to a junior high school in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
This man arrived at school in a taxi around o’clock in the afternoon and handed an envelope to the clerk and said, “I want to send this to the principal” without leaving any personal information.
The money attached to the letter was returned in an envelope.
After he left, the envelope was examined. Inside was 1 million yen in cash along with a letter that read “Don’t lose to Corona. Please help the children. (I) graduated in 1950“.
Shinji Makishima, the principal of Kiyase Middle School where the letter was received, said:I was in a very stressful situation, but fortunately the school supported me a lot“.
According to the School Board of Education, the money raised will be used to support the students.
