According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), the suspect surrendered to the police station. The victims ranged in age from 9-56, including the 39-year-old woman who died. The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Witnesses said there was an argument before the shooting. “We heard a lot of gunfire and at first thought it was firecrackers. Then people started running and screaming,” Taft’s Boots cafe owner Sylvia Wilson told AP by phone.

Ms Jasmayne Hill, who looked after a food truck at the event, said: “The bullets were literally everywhere.”

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt praised OSBI’s “quick response in assisting local police”. Buckner is currently being held at the Muskogee County Jail.

Earlier, on the evening of May 28, 6 teenagers were shot and injured when many people opened fire in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee – USA during a confrontation between two large groups.

According to Chattanooga City Police Chief Celeste Murphy, police on patrol and heard gunfire at nearly 11 pm should immediately react to help the injured. Of the six teenagers shot, two were seriously injured. No suspects have been arrested. Investigators are watching video from surveillance cameras to find out the motive.

“Only one person in the group was shot as an identified target. All other victims were unintended targets,” said Ms. Murphy.
