The director of a fertilizer production company was prosecuted and detained for producing fake fertilizer.
On May 30, information from Thanh Hoa Police said: The Thanh Hoa City Police Department has just prosecuted the case, prosecuted the accused and detained Hoang Van Cuong (SN 1982) who is the director of the Joint Stock Company. Cuong Phat General Production and Trade (hereinafter referred to as Cuong Phat Company) for the crime of “Manufacturing and trading in counterfeit goods”.

Previously, the police discovered and seized more than 100 tons of imported mixed fertilizer produced by Cuong Phat Company with many signs of violations in fertilizer business and production.
Right after that, the police conducted coding of samples sent to solicit for assessment and analysis of the product’s components. Thereby, more than 100 tons of fertilizers were found above unqualified, of which more than 13 tons were fake.
At the police station, Cuong confessed that he had directed workers to skip 40% of the potassium content in the composition of imported mixed fertilizers compared to the standard in order to reduce product costs.
The case is being further investigated and clarified.
