After a few meals, due to the harvest season, Kiet returned to her hometown to work on the fields, while Ms. D. stayed in the city to work. In August 2019, Kiet came back and was told by some co-workers that Mr. Doan Van Duy HA was a co-worker in the project who had an emotional relationship with Ms. D. On September 5, 2019, Kiet’s son became ill and had to be treated at Thuan An City Hospital. Due to lack of money, Kiet let his wife stay to take care of the children while he returned to his hometown to sell rice and get supplies, including a hammer with the purpose of cutting bones and selling noodles.

About 3 days later, Kiet received a phone call from his eldest son saying that he did not see his mother and brother at the hospital, where he is currently unknown.

The next day, he rode a motorbike from his hometown, when he went to Binh Chanh district, he received a phone call from a friend who worked as a housekeeper to inform him that Ms. D was staying with Mr. HA at a hotel in District 8, HCMC.

Immediately, Kiet ran straight to the hotel where his wife and lover were staying, rented a room and sat at the front desk to wait. When he saw Mr. HA going down, Kiet took out his hammer and slashed many times at the enemy lover.

Fortunately for Mr. HA and for Kiet, because he was taken to the emergency room in time, Mr. HA escaped death.

At the end of last March, Kiet was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City for “murder”.

As for Ms. D, Kiet’s wife, after her husband committed the crime, she brought her two children back to her hometown to give her adoptive parents and then disappeared.

In the last time Kiet and his wife poured out their debt, having 2 gardens, Mrs. V. and her husband had to sell it to pay the debt for their son. When the daughter-in-law left, the burden fell on the elderly couple’s shoulders when the fields and gardens were no longer available. In order to raise two poor grandchildren and send them to the farm to visit Kiet, they had to work as hired laborers.

The son went to prison, the daughter-in-law went missing, the creditor repeatedly came to meet Mrs. V.’s wife and asked to pay the debt on behalf of her son, there was no money to pay, the couple was cursed and killed. In pain and humiliation, Mrs. V.’s wife could only grit her teeth and endure.

At the end of the trial, before getting in the car to return to the prison, Kiet advised his parents to stay healthy and take care of the grandchildren for him. Hearing her son speak, Mrs. V could only nod slightly, tears in her eyes as she watched the prison car gradually disappear.
