On May 29, 2022, the Seminar on Summary and Award Ceremony of the National Mathematical Olympiad for students – students in 2022 was held at the University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). .

Vu Hoang Linh – Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Mathematical Association, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Minh Ha – Director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics attended the closing ceremony and awarding the prize. In addition, there are 41 delegations from universities and high schools across the country with more than 200 pupils, students and more than 70 teachers.
The National Mathematical Olympiad for students – students is an annual activity organized by the Vietnam Mathematical Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Central Student Union. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the exam was interrupted for 2 years. This year’s exam takes place in the form of live on-site combined with Zoom software. The total number of candidates participating in the 2022 National Mathematical Olympiad for students – students is 767, from 58 universities, academies and 44 high schools nationwide.
As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 26 first prizes in Algebra, 20 first prizes in Calculus; 41 second prizes in Algebra, 38 second prizes in Calculus; 70 third prizes in Algebra, 64 third prizes in Calculus; 23 consolation prizes for Algebra and 23 consolation prizes for Calculus. For high school students, the Organizing Committee awarded 29 first prizes, 59 second prizes, 82 third prizes and 32 consolation prizes.
Among the contestants, there were 6 excellent students who won the first prize in both Algebra and Calculus, including: Nguyen Truong Thinh (University of Information Technology – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Mac Nam Trung (University of Science – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Tien Hoang (University of Natural Sciences – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), Tra Tran Quy Thien (Quy Nhon University), Le Van Manh (HCMC University of Education) won 2 first prizes in Group A; Ngo Thanh Ha (Quang Nam University) won 2 first prizes in Group B.
Nguyen Mac Nam Trung – Alumnus of the Gifted High School, who won the silver medal of the IMO 2020 International Mathematical Olympiad, got the top results in both subjects (29.5/30 VND for Algebra and 30/30 VND for Calculus). The 3 high school students with the highest scores are from the High School for the Gifted, VNU, are Tran Thang Long (52/60d), Pham Duy Nguyen Lam and Dang Quang Thang (both 51/60d).
