The highest rate of entering class 10 in Hanoi’s public sector is 1/3

According to data released by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training on the morning of May 30, the total number of aspirations 1, 2 and 3 is 106,000, 102,000 and 69,000 respectively. Comparing the number of aspirations 1 with the city-wide target, the admission rate for public high schools is 64.7%.

For each school, Only Yen Hoa High School (Cau Giay District) has more than 2,000 registered students. With a target of 675, Yen Hoa is also the school with the highest match rate in Hanoi with 1/3.

Le Quy Don and Quang Trung high schools (Ha Dong district) received 1st requests, 1,805 and 1,723, respectively. These two schools have the same target of 720, so the ratio ranges from 1/2,4-2.5.

Meanwhile, some high schools have registered students even less than the enrollment quota. For example, Minh Ha High School (Thach That District) has the target of 450, the number of aspirations 1 is 373. Similarly, this number at Dai Cuong High School (Ung Hoa district) is 315-285. These schools are located in the suburbs of Hanoi.

On a regional scale, Area 3 (including three districts of Cau Giay, Dong Da, and Thanh Xuan) 13,478 candidates registered for aspiration 1 – the largest in the city, even though there are only 10 high schools. This is an area where many high-quality schools are concentrated, whose benchmark scores are often in the top of the city. The total target of schools in Region 3 is 6,445, less than half the number of registrations.

Area 6 (Dong Anh, Me Linh, Soc Son) and area 7 (Northern Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong) also have more than 13,000 registered candidates. However, the number of high schools in these two areas is higher, the target is 8,560-9,270, so the level of competition is not as great as in region 3.

The remaining regions have about 5,000-6,000 registered candidates.

In the school year 2021-2022, Hanoi has about 129,000 students considering graduating from secondary school, an increase of 19,000 compared to last year. In which, about 104,000 children have the opportunity to continue their high school education (77,000 public and 27,000 private). The remaining 25,000 children will enter vocational and continuing education institutions. The time for the 10th grade entrance exam takes place in two days, June 18-19.
