Hopper house project has an area of 240 m², located in a prime location of Quang An ward, Tay Ho district, Hanoi.
The project was designed by AHL architects. The design of the wooden eaves with black slate stone ensures both traditional and modern elements.
The outside of the building brings the familiarity of a traditional Northern house.
The large courtyard and all the trees that are several decades old of the current house are preserved to help keep the maximum privacy for the open space inside.
The outside of the building is like that, the inside opens up an impressive space through the variation of the architect.
All public and private spaces are arranged around a giant “funnel” shaped gap in the middle of the house.
Through the “funnel” to get natural light and ventilation for the house.
Interior materials used in the house are rustic but still ensure modernity.
The living space is arranged mainly in the storey block and the wooden house is located in the living room space.
The wooden house cum bedroom space is the highlight of the house.
The main bedroom is comfortable and modern.
The “funnel projection” acts as a skylight, ensuring air circulation and providing light.
In the middle of the “funnel” the architect designed a tall green tree, reaching to the roof of the house.
