The first Vietnamese Sports Festival in Kitakyushu took place at Onga Sports Center (Fukuoka Prefecture) on May 22, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka (TLSQ).
This is the first and largest activity organized by VAK since its inception in December 2021.
Under the patronage of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka and the support of Japanese donors as well as the community in Kitakyushu and the Kyushu region, the VAK Executive Board was determined to organize a Congress for the first time. large-scale sports, competing in football, table tennis, badminton and tug of war, bringing together about 500 athletes to compete.
Athletes participating in competitions include hundreds of Vietnamese students, trainees, engineers, and employees in schools and local companies. In addition, the Sports Festival as well as the active participation of Japanese people and international friends from Indonesia, China, Thailand…
The process of preparing for the Prize has created great interest and attention in the community as well as in local public opinion.
Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of Fukuoka province, representatives of Kitakyushu city leaders, and representatives of Vietnamese associations in the Kyushu region. Hundreds of young people from many neighboring provinces such as Kumamoto, Yamaguchi… came to compete or witness, cheer on the tournament, enjoy Vietnamese dishes at booths registered to sell for the tournament.
Local public opinion is also very interested in the large-scale sporting event in this community. Kyushu Asahi Television (KBC) and Nishinihon newspaper sent reporters to report, report and take pictures of the Congress.

Representative of Fukuoka Prefectural Government, Mr. Nieda Genki, Vice Chairman of Fukuoka Prefectural Council, said that he attended the Vietnam New Year Festival in Fukuoka (January 1, 2022, with about 17,000 participants) but was still surprised at the event. scale and professionalism, the large audience of this Sports Festival.

As a result of the Congress, in football, through intense matches but always exuding friendship, with stable and outstanding performance, FC Kachitai from Kurume city won the Football Championship Cup; Two players of this team also won the title of Top Scorer (Le Hai Nam) and Best Goalkeeper (Han Ngoc Thien).
