Information on handling the case shall be sent to the Ministry of Education and Training before May 31.

On May 26, social networks stirred up information about the incident of school violence at American Academy International School (An Phu, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).

The case attracted public attention after THT used social networks to spread information. Ms. T. said that her daughter was injured after a fight with a classmate, so she wanted the school to take action.

According to Ms. T. on social networks, last week, students of ISHCMC – AA had a picnic in Ho Tram area, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

When eating, T.’s daughter holds a chair for her friend to go get food. Then an 8th grader from the school arrived, expressing his intention to take that chair. At this time, T.’s son said that the chair was already occupied. The other 8th grader spoke harshly, but T.’s son didn’t react at all. Everything seemed to stop.

Ms. T. recounted on her personal page, on May 26, her child was beaten and punched in the chest by a student at the same school. Ms. T. said that the school teacher saw it but did not intervene.

Ms. T. recounted that some other students were disgruntled and wanted to protect her child, so they were also beaten by the other female student. Currently, all 4 children are showing signs of psychological trauma, panic, chest tightness, scratches and bruises on their bodies.

On May 27, Mr. Andy Tay – Executive Director of the school said that on May 26, when the incident happened, Mr. Andy Tay was someone who knew very well, at that time the students left. The School Board has received information that there has been a conflict outside the school.

Immediately, the Principal was outside, bringing these students into the school safely. After that, these students were checked and taken care of by the health department. When the children did not have any health problems, they were sent to their rooms so that the teacher could find out what happened.

The process is that the school will talk to the student to find out what’s going on, and then call to talk to the parent.

While talking with students, a parent appeared in the school, talking to the student who hit her child with an angry attitude. According to the regulations, the school will not let this situation happen, because it will affect the students’ morale.

When she could not talk to the other student, this parent became angry, livestreamed and did not cooperate with the school.

After that, everyone left the room, so the school couldn’t finish talking to parents to get to the bottom of the matter.

On May 27, school leaders extracted all security cameras inside and outside the school to get a full picture of what happened. Currently, the school has contacted parents, to arrange appointments, to work at the beginning of next week.

Currently, the school has also worked with the local police on this matter, and parents of both sides have also reported to the police station.
