The Standing Board of Tay Ho District Party Committee has just had a working session with the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Construction of Hanoi, unanimously proposing the City People’s Committee to assign Tay Ho district to manage and exploit West Lake.

Vice Chairman of Tay Ho District People’s Committee Nguyen Le Hoang said that West Lake has an area of ​​527,517ha, the circumference around the lake is about 18.9km long. Technical infrastructure around West Lake is basically completed synchronously from embankment talus with walkways, drainage system, lighting, trees.

The waste collection system around West Lake has been completed 2/3 of the phase, most of the wastewater has been brought to the West Lake wastewater treatment plant for treatment…

From September 2016 up to now, the management and exploitation of West Lake has been carried out by 7 city departments and agencies, including: Department of Construction, Department of Transport, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Department of Natural Resources and Environment. On May 19 and May 25, 2022, departments, branches and cities held an inter-branch meeting to consider the proposed content of assigning Tay Ho district to manage and exploit West Lake. The inter-sector agreed and proposed that the City People’s Committee assign the People’s Committee of Tay Ho District to be the focal point for unified management and exploitation of West Lake in areas such as urban order, water surface management, and surrounding technical infrastructure management. and on West Lake; management and licensing of cultural, sports, tourism and entertainment service activities, management of aquaculture and exploitation of aquatic products in the country…

On that basis, the People’s Committee of Tay Ho District proposed the City People’s Committee to assign the People’s Committee of Tay Ho District to assume the prime responsibility for management and organize the implementation of the following contents: water surface management of West Lake, including the embankment roof, lake bed, ensuring water surface sanitation; the work against encroachment on the lake bed.
