700 teachers in Dak Nong have not had their allowances withdrawn

Dak Nong5.5 billion VND allowance for 700 teachers in Gia Nghia city in 2020 was determined to be spent in accordance with regulations, so it is not arrears.

On May 31, Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People’s Committee, said that according to the Government’s written response, in addition to not collecting the amount of 5.5 billion dong of allowances, the state will pay additional expenses. supplementing the mountainous preferential allowance for all teachers in Gia Nghia from January to June 2021 – because of this period, all 8/8 local administrative units are still mountainous.

In 2019, teachers who are directly teaching in public educational institutions are entitled to a preferential allowance. The 50% allowance is applied to teachers in pre-schools and primary schools in mountainous, island and remote areas.

However, in January 2020, Gia Nghia town became a city directly under Dak Nong province. According to the Department of Finance, these teachers are only entitled to a 35% allowance instead of 50% as before. Since then, the Department of Finance has asked 30 schools under the Education and Training Department of Gia Nghia City that have spent more than the prescribed amount to recover a total of more than 5.5 billion VND.

Request for arrears The above amount surprised many teachers, and felt unconvinced. They believe that although the school is located in the city, the majority of students in the school are still ethnic minorities; Gia Nghia has moved to the city but still belongs to the highland area and so far the writing system has not changed.

The People’s Committee of Dak Nong province then directed to suspend the arrears and wait for the guidance of the central government.
