Domestic tourists soar

Not only domestic visitors, international visitors to Vietnam in May were 133,000 arrivals, an increase of about 1.9 times compared to April. In the first 5 months of the year, the number of visitors is estimated at 228,400.

Total revenue of the whole tourism industry in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at 211,000 billion VND.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first four months of the year, Korean and American tourists came to Vietnam the most. Next are guests from Northeast Asia such as Taiwan, Japan. The Chinese market grew negative due to the Covid-19 policy. Southeast Asian markets such as Cambodia, Laos and Singapore also increased sharply. With markets from Europe, customers from France, UK and Germany are the most.

According to the General Statistics Office, tourism revenue in the first 5 months of 2022 increased by 34.7% over the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation and food services also increased by 15.7% over the same period last year when the demand of the people increased.

With the increasing number of passengers, airlines simultaneously increase flights. Vietnam Airlines Group is expected to provide more than 7.1 million flights, including 6.3 million domestic flights, an increase of 6% compared to 2019. Bamboo Airways is expected to increase the number of seats by 15% compared to the present. increased flights to tourist destinations Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon… and the main route Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang.
