The expressway uses 3 sources of capital: loans from ADB, JICA and counterpart funds. The expected completion date is December 31, 2023.

While the case has not been resolved, the authorities discovered one more theft case at a key project to deal with flooding caused by high tides in Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, the police discovered 3 subjects on a boat, carrying 6 gabions of stone carpets, 10 iron and steel lids with a total weight of 300kg. These exhibits were identified as materials for the construction of the Muong Chuoi tidal control culvert under the project of preventing tides and preventing flooding for nearly 10,000 billion VND.

Notably, through the site inspection, the construction unit said that the number of stolen stone gabions was up to 100 units with a total loss of about 245 million VND.

Recently, at Thu Thiem 2 bridge (District 1 connecting Thu Duc city) has just been put into operation for a week, more than 40 cast iron garbage covers on the bridge deck ‘fly without wings’. The police intervened and arrested the suspect in the theft case at Thu Thiem bridge 2. The subject was then prosecuted for property theft.

Similarly, Binh Phuoc 1 and Binh Phuoc 2 bridges (District 12 connecting Thu Duc city) also had similar thefts. People reported theft in this area for a long time, but the crooks could not be found.

The road traffic infrastructure management center under the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City had to replace dozens of new cast iron covers.

To prevent theft, this unit conducts ‘dead’ welding of the garbage cover to the drain hole steel frame. At the same time, it is recommended that local authorities work together to monitor and handle violations related to theft of construction equipment, causing public outrage.
