Two hotel rooms should be avoided if you want to sleep well

The room next to the elevator and right on the ground floor are two locations that sleep experts advise to avoid renting.

According to Martin Seeley, British sleep expert, these two positions are often noisier than the rest. Therefore, you should avoid the rooms in these places to have a quiet space and sleep better. “When checking in, ask the front desk to arrange a room on a high floor, because it is less affected by street noise, lobby, bar…” Seeley said.

Similarly, in-house guests should also stay away from rooms near elevators. This is a place where people often hear the signal ting, where people gather up and down, so it is often noisy.

However, guests should also not rent rooms on the upper floors, advises Lloyd Figgins, a military veteran and now a travel risk expert. The high floors will have advantages: panoramic view of the city or your place, less noise pollution, the air can be fresher than the lower floors. But in turn, when there’s a fire, these are floors you’ll have a hard time getting down to. And if the floor is too low in hotels located in low-security places, you easily broken in by thieves.

Good sleep during trips is very important, as it helps you regain energy for a day of travel, whether traveling or working. Martin also adds that a room that is too hot or cold also disrupts sleep. So, double check the air conditioning system in the room. If the air conditioner has a problem, please change to another place instead of trying to stay.

Lloyd Figgins often gives advice to his customers about the location of hotel rooms: do not stay on the upper floors, and should choose from the second to fourth floors to stay. Because this floor is not as prone to theft as the first floor, it is easy to escape when there is an incident. Photo: Agoda
