Offerings for the Lunar New Year will be slightly different by region. For example, the North has banh troi on the offering tray, the South has banh ú, water-dried tea, and the Central region has millet tea.

People in the Central region also often eat duck meat on this occasion because they think that duck meat is cool and can repel the heat to make the body healthier.
