At this year’s competition, there are 3 countries with gold medals: China (7), Russia (3), Australia (1). According to medal ranking, Vietnam ranks 8th after China; Russia; Australia; Taiwan (2 Silver Medals); Kazakhstan (1 Silver, 4 Bronze); India, Thailand (1 Silver, 3 Bronze).
The 2022 Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) took place from May 23 to May 31, 2022 with the participation of 218 contestants from 28 delegations from 27 countries and territories.

The Vietnamese national team consists of 8 contestants, taking the online exam at Hanoi National University of Education.
