The man achieved the record of eating 3 hot peppers in the fastest time. Gregory Foster shared that he eats hot peppers like everyone else eats candy.

The previous record belonged to Mike Jack of London, Ontario, Canada, who set a Guinness World Record after eating 3 Carolina Reaper hot peppers in 9.72 seconds.

The hot pepper variety, developed by American breeder Ed Currie, is red in color and bony in shape, with a rough texture and pointed tail. In 2017, the Guinness World Records recognized the Carolina Reaper as the hottest chili pepper in the world.

This chili provides an average of 1.5 million Scoville Heat Units (SHUs), with some reaching as hot as 2.2 million. SHU is a scale for measuring the spiciness of chili peppers developed in 1912 by American chemist Wilbur Scoville.

This chili variety was originally named “HP22B”, created by Ed Currie, who runs the PuckerButt Pepper company in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Ed Currie has spent most of his life searching for and breeding some of the hottest peppers in the world.

The capxaixin content in this variety is close to that of standard American pepper. Before the Guinness Book of Records recognized, the title of the hottest chili pepper in the world belonged to the Trinidad Moruga scorpion chili pepper.
