Hackers “take over” the largest US network?

“We already have a database of Verizon employees, including their names, ID numbers, email addresses and phone numbers” – technology site The Verge citing information from the hacker said.

Along with the above statement, hackers immediately demanded the largest US carrier to pay $ 250,000, in exchange for the database not to be leaked.

“Anonymous hacker contacted Verizon by calling the phone number contained in the stolen database. That shows that Verizon’s information was stolen is well-founded” – The Verge identify.

Hackers claim to have hacked the database through a remote connection to a Verizon employee’s computer. Previously, the hacker sent an email to the company’s employees under the name of internal support. Then ask the employee to allow remote computer access. Once accessed, the hacker launches malicious scripts to attack the entire system.

A Verizon spokesperson also confirmed that hackers contacted them asking for $250,000. Hackers also threatened to release the information they obtained online if Verizon did not respond to requests.

However, Verizon does not believe hackers stole their information and does not intend to negotiate with hackers. “We take our data very seriously. We always take strong measures to protect people and our systems,” a Verizon spokesperson said.

Leaked information on the internet is potentially dangerous. Scammers with full information can impersonate the network operator to call the victim and ask for procedures to gain access to the phone number.

In fact, this trick has been used frequently over the years as attackers manipulated accounts through carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T.

Their purpose is to steal cryptocurrency or access social media accounts to perform many fraudulent tricks. Despite being warned, many people are still trapped by bad guys and suffer considerable material damage.
