Huawei gradually catches up with Samsung’s folding smartphone sales

However, the appearance of Huawei P50 Pocket has brought positive things for Huawei. This is folding phone designed by Huawei to compete directly with the Galaxy Z Flip3. The device launched in the fourth quarter of 2021 and saw a rapid rise when the Galaxy Z Flip3 dropped sharply.

The Galaxy Z Flip3 ended Q1 2022 with just over 20% of the market, while the P50 Pocket was right below. If both phones keep this trajectory, the P50 Pocket will overtake the Galaxy Z Flip3 in terms of sales.

Huawei is a major competitor to the dominance of Samsung in the foldable phone market, even though the company has been banned from operating in the US. The company’s lack of Google Play services and its ability to reach American customers has hit the company, but Huawei hasn’t stopped. Things could change when Samsung’s new series of folding phones launch later this year.
