Dr.BS Truong Hoang Minh, Head of the Center for Nephrology – Urology – Andrology, People’s Hospital 115, said: “Through clinical examination and imaging, we discovered that there was rupture of the cavernous blood vessels on both sides and This broken branch of blood vessel drains into the cavernous sinus, thereby causing the patient’s prolonged penile erection. This is a high-flow prolonged penile erection, which is quite rare, accounting for less than 5% of cases of prolonged penile erection.

After the consultation, the doctors decided to actively support the patient with endovascular intervention. The intervention team caused “ultra-selective” occlusion of one of the vascular branches of the torn cavernous body. Immediately after the intervention, the penis returned to the “soft” state as usual. Doctors will continue to monitor patients to control erectile dysfunction and have appropriate treatment.
