On May 31, Thong Nhat District Police is coordinating with professional units of Dong Nai Provincial Police to investigate the case of a woman who was doused with gasoline and burned her whole body, being treated at Cho Ray Hospital.
According to initial information, recently, Mr. and Mrs. L.Tr.C. (52 years old, Bau Ham 2 commune, Thong Nhat district) had disagreements and conflicts in life. Unable to find a common voice, on the morning of May 24, Mrs. X was doused with gasoline and caught fire.
Panicked, Mrs. X called for help and her son used a blanket to put out the fire. However, Ms. X’s whole body was badly burned. She was taken to Thong Nhat Hospital and then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency treatment.
During the investigation, the police worked with the people involved, determined that Ms. X. and her husband often quarreled. Mr. C. was in debt and left home and rented a house outside to live. Recently, Mr. C. often called to threaten Ms. X.
After the incident, Mr. C. was absent from the locality and the police were searching to clarify the incident. At present, Mrs. X. has passed the critical period.
