Two iPhone features can be used even when the battery is turned off or out-Hi-tech fashion

Apple has made its software and hardware more power efficient, allowing some features to work even when the iPhone is turned off or the battery is dead.

Use Find My to locate iPhone

The Find My app has become an extremely powerful tool to locate your iPhone, AirPods and even your keys with the help of AirTag. And the app is so powerful that users can use it to locate their iPhone even when it’s turned off or has no battery left.

That’s right, even if someone steals an iPhone and turns it off, users can still track it using the Find My app. Moreover, Apple confirmed that even if the iPhone has no battery left, users still have a chance to find it using Find My in a few hours.

Another interesting thing worth mentioning is that if Activation Lock is enabled, users can still use Find My even if the iPhone is reset.

Express Card Transaction

Even if the battery is dead, you can still use your iPhone to make some Express Card transactions with Express Mode enabled. This means that even if the iPhone battery is completely dead, users can still use it to access car keys, house keys, payments or transit cards.

Supported iPhone devices can use this feature with:

– The designated transit or payment card is an Express Transit card.

– Express Mode enabled student card.

– Express Mode enabled car key.

– The house key has Express Mode enabled.

– Hotel or corporate access card with Express Mode enabled.

“How does it work?” This is a question many people ask about. This is because Apple uses wireless technology to make card transactions on supported iPhones. The user can press the power button (or the Home button on the 2nd gen iPhone SE) and you’ll see a text saying that the Express Card is available for use.

iPhone models that support Express Mode include iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13″ mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Basically, Express Mode is enabled by default, but if it’s not, you can enable it as follows:

– On iPhone, open the Wallet app.

– Click on the password or key the user wants to use.

– Click Other.

– Turn Express Mode on or off if you see an option.

– If you don’t see this option, tap Express Mode.

– From the menu, users can tap a card or key to turn on Express Mode or press None to turn off Express Mode.

– Use Face ID, Touch ID or passcode to authenticate the device.
