Specifically, 3 Gold Medals belonged to Truong Van Quoc Bao (grade 12, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An Province); Duong Minh Khoi (grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Tran Xuan Bach (11th grade, High School for Gifted Students, Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

4 Silver medals belong to Le Huu Nghia (grade 12, Binh Long High School for the Gifted, Binh Phuoc Province); Nguyen Nhat Minh (grade 12, High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Vu Huy Hoang (grade 12, Ha Long High School for the Gifted, Quang Ninh Province); Tran Khoi Nguyen (grade 12, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education).

The 2022 Asia Pacific Informatics Olympiad will be held in the form of an online exam; Egypt is the host country. The Vietnamese team consists of 15 contestants, taking an online exam at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. According to the regulations of the organizers, Vietnam is allowed to choose 7 candidates with the highest scores to participate in the award consideration.

At the exam, there were 888 candidates from 35 countries and territories participating; As a result, 186 contestants won prizes, including 17 Gold Medals, 74 Silver Medals, 95 Bronze Medals. Vietnam has 7 children participating in the ranking and all won medals, accounting for 100%.

At this year’s exam, there are 6 countries and territories where students won Gold Medals, including China (6), Russia (5), Vietnam (3), Singapore (1), South Korea (1). , Taiwan (1).

According to the medal ranking, Vietnam ranks 3rd after China and Russia. This achievement is better than 2021 (Vietnam has 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals).
