Coach Gong Oh-kyun admitted that he was under great pressure and was very worried when he accepted the invitation to lead U23 Vietnam.
Coach Gong Oh-kyun told OSEN’s reporter that currently, Vietnam U23 players are in a very good mood, there is no anxiety after the transition in the position of head coach.
“The discipline factor in football is something that should be emphasized. There are rules in football that we cannot break. Currently, the atmosphere in the team is very good. The players all trained very hard according to my new lesson plans.
I also approach the young players in the same way that they are my friends. All are very open. When I first arrived, I spent a whole day memorizing each player’s name.”.
At the finals of the Asian U23 Championship this time, U23 Vietnam will have to face the reigning U23 champion Korea, which is the hometown team of coach Gong Oh-kyun. Talking about this confrontation, coach Gong Oh-kyun showed determination with the goal of helping U23 Vietnam surprise.
