Previously, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duong (residence in H.Krong Pak) sent an application to the authorities, requesting to provide medical records related to his daughter’s niece Nguyen HTNg. (10 years old) unconscious after appendectomy at H.Krong Pak Health Center.

According to Mr. Duong, on the evening of May 4, his daughter complained of abdominal pain, so on May 5, his wife took her to the Krong Pak District Medical Center for examination. At this time, the doctor diagnosed her with appendicitis, and had to do surgery to remove it.

During the operation, his wife saw that the doctors and nurses seemed very worried, ran in and out to get the equipment to bring in. At the end of the operation, for some reason, the doctor called the family to wake the baby up while the baby was still on the stretcher, in the operating room, not the recovery room.

Nephew Ng. Still in a coma, being treated at Children’s Hospital 2

The surgery started around 10:20 am on 5/5. At 11:30 a.m. on the same day, when the family entered the operating room, they saw Ng. Eyes closed, people tensed. After that, he had symptoms such as rolling his eyes, convulsions and coma.

Because he was in a coma, he was transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital within the day, but he still didn’t see any progress. At noon on May 7, Duong’s family moved the child to Children’s Hospital 2 – Ho Chi Minh City, and the baby is still in a coma.

After he filed a complaint, the hospital contacted him and asked for a support of 15 million VND from the hospital’s source and the surgical team contributed, but the family did not accept it and asked for clarification.

“After nearly 1 month, my baby is still in a coma. The family wants to know what really happened during the operation and whether to save my baby in time. At the same time, they request the authorities to initiate the prosecution. case to clarify the case”, Mr. Duong said angrily.

Notes of Tien Phong, Mr. Bui Khac Hung, Director of Krong Pak District Medical Center, said that when the incident happened, the center had re-checked the procedure for receiving and operating patients and had not detected anything unusual.

According to Mr. Hung, the grandson of Ng. had a history of high fever, convulsions. However, before performing the surgery, the unit allows to check, do tests and be eligible for surgery.

The center also reported the incident to the Dak Lak Department of Health, and coordinated with Children’s Hospital 2 to find out the cause of the baby’s coma. side police also had access to the case file.
