Egypt unveils treasure trove of 250 mummies

The treasure includes 250 mummies, 150 bronze statues of ancient gods and many other artifacts. These 250 mummified coffins date back to 500 BC. The coffins are still painted intact with sharp drawings. The mummies are still well preserved.

Archaeologists also found statues, gold masks, jewelry, wooden boxes. These are all valuable artifacts. These artifacts were unearthed at Saqqara, nearly 30 km south of Cairo.

This site has more than 10 pyramids and was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1979.
