According to the allegation, on the evening of July 22, 2021, HQV (40 years old, residing in Dien Tien commune, Dien Ban town) and two friends went fishing to drink. They went to the aquarium owned by Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien and hired Mr. Vo Quoc Hung to look after.
V. went to Mr. Hung to ask to catch fish but was not accepted. Later, Mr. Hung saw many bricks and stones being thrown on the watchtower and the surrounding area.
At this time, Mr. Hung called Bao (Hien’s son) and said that some people who had come to ask to catch fish had thrown stones.
When Bao arrived, he was also stoned to the watchtower, so he loudly said: “Do not do business but go to sting people’s fish”. Bao then took a machete and a flashlight to find group V. “talk”.
The indictment determined, although it is not clear who threw stones at the family’s fishing hut, Bao used a machete to hit V.’s head, hips and back, causing the victim to die.
At the first-instance session, after reviewing the circumstances and the entire dossier, the People’s Court of Quang Nam province sentenced Bao to 12 years in prison.
