In addition, the report also breaks down the number of immigrants and migrants by sex. The number of male immigrants is more than 967,000 people, lower than the number of female immigrants with more than 995,000 people. City. Ho Chi Minh City is home to the highest number of immigrants for both men and women. In which, males accounted for 49.67% of the total number of immigrants and females accounted for 50.33%.

Thanh Hoa is a province with both male and female emigrants, with males accounting for 48% of the total number of immigrants and females accounting for 52%. According to the General Statistics Office, the disparity in migration between the sexes is gradually shifting towards a balance.

The technical qualification of migrants has improved compared to 10 years ago, increasing from 22.9% in 2009 to 37.2% in 2019 and higher than that of non-migrants, the report said. In 2019, the proportion of migrants with professional and technical qualifications was 17.5 percentage points higher than that of non-migrants.

Of the total number of migrant workers working in the economy, up to 91.4% of migrants work in the service, industrial and construction sectors. In addition, the unemployment rate of migrants is 2.53%, of which female migrants have a higher unemployment rate than men.
