While selling lottery tickets at the intersection in Tuy Hoa City (Phu Yen), Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, 50, was stopped by her husband, slashed her head, back and hands with a machete, causing injuries to the victim.
On the morning of May 31, Luong Quang Hoang, 49 years old, a native of Phu Hoa district, was detained by the Tuy Hoa City Police to take testimony and clarify the motive for hunting his wife, Mrs. Huong.
“Hoang’s behavior shows signs of committing murder, the unit is consolidating the file and transferring it to the provincial police to continue investigating according to its competence”, a leader of Tuy Hoa City Police informed.
Yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Huong was selling lottery tickets at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao – Tran Cao Van (in ward 4), when her husband driving a motorbike stopped in front of her. After a few quarrels, the husband rushed to control, wielding a machete, slashed the wife’s head, back and hands many times. The victim collapsed and was transported to the emergency room.
Phu Yen Provincial General Hospital said that patient Huong was admitted to the hospital with a 1cm-long forehead wound, exposing the skull. The dorsal area had a 5cm long right wound, causing a perforation of the right lower lobe of the lung, and the injury to the right hand resulted in a partial rupture of the deltoid and triceps muscles. The hospital’s doctors made an emergency consultation and performed rescue surgery. At present, the patient has passed the critical condition, is awake and his health is gradually stabilizing.
As for Luong Quang Hoang, after leaving the scene, he was taken by the police to the office, along with the evidence of the crime.
