Tour guide beaten by ‘colleague’ in Da Nang

On the morning of June 2, leaders of the Danang Department of Tourism said that the Department had received information about the incident of a tour guide fighting in the area in front of a coastal hotel in My An ward, Ngu Hanh Son district.

“Regarding this case, currently My An ward police are handling it and the Department of Tourism has coordinated and exchanged relevant contents in the field of tourism according to regulations. After the Ngu Hanh Son District Police handle and have a specific conclusion on the case, the Department of Tourism will continue to handle it according to its function with the spirit of strictly handling it according to regulations, in order to ensure the tourism environment of the city. The city is safe and friendly,” said the leader of the Danang Department of Tourism.

Earlier, on the evening of May 31, a social network shared a video of a tour guide of DaNang Travel Media company being assaulted in front of the hotel lobby, in the presence of many tourists.

According to the recorded image, when the male tour guide had just brought the group back to the hotel lobby, a group of people surrounded him, grabbed his neck and dragged him across the street to the beach to beat the council.

The incident happened in front of tourists, making many people angry because it affected the city’s tourism industry.

DaNang Travel Media Company said that the tour guide after having a health check at the hospital was taken home to rest. The company has arranged another guide to continue to lead the group to ensure the journey for visitors.

Currently, Ngu Hanh Son District Police has directed the My An Ward Police to urgently and clarify the case.
