9 Vietnamese swimmers attend the 2022 World Championships

According to the decision of the General Department of Sports, on June 15, the Vietnamese swimming team consisting of 9 athletes will depart for the 2022 World Swimming Championships in Hungary. All of our players are those who have just won medals at SEA Games 31 and surpassed at least B standard to enter the tournament. Notably, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang won 5 gold medals at the 31st SEA Games. Huy Hoang surpassed standard A in the 1,500m, 400m freestyle and B standard in the 800m, 200m freestyle and 200m butterfly swim.

Besides Huy Hoang, a number of athletes from the Vietnam Swimming team are also qualified to participate in this tournament thanks to good results at the 31st SEA Games, including: Tran Hung Nguyen with B standard (400m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 400m). mixed, 200m mixed), Pham Thanh Bao achieved standard B (200m frog, 100m frog), Le Thi My Thao achieved standard B (200m butterfly), Hoang Quy Phuoc achieved standard B (100m freestyle), Tran Tan Trieu meet standard B (1,500m, 800m, 400m freestyle, 400m mixed).

After the end of the tournament, the whole team will return to the country, especially 4 athletes Nguyen Huy Hoang, Tran Hung Nguyen, Pham Thanh Bao and Nguyen Quang Thuan will stay in Hungary for long-term training until September 11, 2022.
