Red Flower Farm Directed by Victor Vu, inspired by the novel of the same name by writer Di Li, with bold colors of detectives with a bit of mystery and horror. In order to bring beautiful footage, realize the gloomy atmosphere with the dark secrets of the novel, the producer boldly devoted a large budget to the design of the setting.

The film crew spent 65 intense days of filming, with a staff of up to 100 people and monumental equipment like a movie. The investment amount is up to a million dollars for 8 episodes, worthy of becoming the most expensive TV “blockbuster” series today.

20 filming locations are spread across most districts and cities of Lam Dong province such as Bao Lam district, Lac Duong district, Duc Trong district, Lam Ha district, Bao Loc city, Da Lat city. Red Flower Farm – the main scene of the film is built on the background of an existing resort farm in Bao Lam. However, in order to create a massive mansion, the design team of 15 people had to work for a month to erect more thatched roofs, partitions, arrange more furniture, spread sand all over the available cement. of the yard, relocate the existing decorations of the farm, build 1 more house from the resort’s warehouse and plant flowers.

The process of building Red Flower Camp was very difficult because it was interrupted during the stressful epidemic. According to the plan, the film will be filmed at the end of May 2021, but at that time the Covid epidemic was at its peak in both Ho Chi Minh City and Lam Dong province, the filming plan had to be stopped. interruption of context construction. The design team had just finished about 70% of the work and had to return. The red flower beds that were deposited and cared for to bloom at the right time of filming were also not used, the producer lost a large amount of money.

Not to mention, when the social distancing situation was stressful, the producer received news that the harsh rain and storm situation in Lam Dong damaged most of the work of the design team in May. Therefore, when the film crew was allowed to go to Lam Dong province to continue the preparation work, it took the design team about 2 more weeks to repair and reinforce the damage.

The film crew encountered difficulties due to the impact of the Covid epidemic and the harsh stormy situation

Keeping the red flower beds “perfect” is also an interesting memory. The 100-person film crew with a tight schedule and pressure to ensure the production schedule made the speed of work on the set pushed up very high. The “speedy steps” of the engine crew, the light team, led to the anxiety of the design team. The fragile flower beds that have not been filmed are fenced and strictly protected by members of the production team and the field team.

The scenes in the deep forest with high waterfall also brought many new experiences for the film crew. There are scenes at the majestic waterfall but still unspoiled, even the path is just enough for one person to pass. To be able to “light up” for the crew to transport equipment and work safely, hundreds of glow sticks were requisitioned and scattered all over dangerous places in the forest and night waterfall scenes. Of course, the work of collecting and cleaning up the site after that is done very strictly to protect the environment and have the opportunity to reuse.
