End of 50% registration fee discount

Decree 103/2021/ND-CP stipulating the rate of registration fee collection for cars, trailers or semi-trailers towed by automobiles and vehicles similar to cars manufactured and assembled in Vietnam. The country has officially expired from June 1, 2022.

Accordingly, people will return to the 100% registration fee rate for all models of cars from domestically assembled or imported cars.

In the 6 months of applying the 50% registration fee discount, the Vietnamese auto market has had many changes. However, with the lack of components, semiconductor chips have caused the situation of no vehicles to be delivered on a large scale with many brands.

Therefore, many “hot” cars that are loved by users are sold by dealers for hundreds of millions of dong, so the rolling price is not really much lower than expected.

Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway officially collects 100% automatic tolls

From 9:00 a.m. on June 1, 2022, the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway officially piloted non-stop electronic toll collection (ETC). Accordingly, manual toll collection will stop completely, this is the most modern expressway in Vietnam.

From June, vehicles that do not have ETC stickers or have insufficient funds to enter the highway will be fined from 2 to 3 million dong and have their driving license revoked for up to 3 months.

In case, the vehicle without ETC sticker entering the toll station will be issued a paper ticket and stopped waiting for the card to be affixed behind the station.

Change the time to learn to drive

According to Circular 04/2022/TT-BGTVT just issued by the Ministry of Transport, from June 2022, the time to learn and practice driving license will have some adjustments.

Specifically, starting from June 15, the driver training program of classes B1, B2, C will change the time to learn to practice driving on roads (on road).

– For class B1 (automatic transmission): A driving course will have the total practice time on the driving range reduced from 45 hours to 41 hours. In contrast, the time to learn to practice driving on the road will increase from 20 hours to 24 hours.

– For class B2 (floor number): The time to practice driving on the road will increase from 36 hours to 40 hours. In contrast, the time to learn to practice driving on the field will be reduced from 45 hours to 41 hours under the new regulations.

– For class C: The total time students will learn to drive on the training ground will be reduced from 43 hours to 43 hours. Meanwhile, the total practice time on the road will increase to 48 hours instead of 45 hours as currently.
