Magnetic train running on unique “upside down” track

Magnetic levitation train Xingguo, the world’s first high-speed running race, is undergoing its final adjustment in Jiangxi province – China. It is expected that “Xingguo” will complete its test run in July. It is a combination of two modern transportation technologies including maglev and suspended railway.

The suspended railway looks like a traditional railway, but upside down. In the world, China, Germany and Japan are masters of this technology.

Xingguo is the first train in the world to apply maglev technology on suspended railways. Suspension rail uses electricity to push the wheels to run on the rails.

The Xingguo maglev train runs on an 800-meter-long elevated monorail with a speed of 80 km/h, up to a maximum of 120 km/h. Different from conventional superconducting maglev and conductive maglev, the new technology can lift the train without conducting electricity, helping the vehicle save energy and protect the environment. It is also a driverless train, the carriages moving on an upside down track, supported by steel and concrete pillars.

“The designers of the Xingguo maglev train can carry 88 passengers. This technology can be used not only in cities, but also in high mountains and desert environments. It can also support subways and systems. urban railway system” – sheet China News disclosure.

Assessing the superiority of maglev trains running on “upside down” tracks, expert Wang Zhongmei, of China Railway Science and Industry Corporation (CRSIC), said: “Not only does it save land space. , the suspension railway does not affect pedestrians or motor vehicles. This type of railway has an independent route and costs only 1/5 of the subway.”
