Information from Animals Asia said that this organization has just sent a rescue team to Son La to rescue a sun bear from a farm. Son La Forest Protection Department has mobilized the owner’s family to voluntarily hand over this bear for humanitarian purposes to the Vietnam Bear Rescue Center.

According to the family, this bear has been kept in captivity since 2000, weighing about 200kg, and is named Plum by Animals Asia.

Previously, yesterday, June 2, Animals Asia also successfully received a cub, weighing 5kg, from the Dien Bien Forest Protection Department.

Receiving information from the people, the units coordinated to rescue this baby bear from the vegetable garden of a household. Bear cubs have been separated from their mothers at a young age, from 2-10kg, quite similar to young children.

At the time of rescue, the bear was relatively healthy, Because they are cubs, Animals Asia and Dien Bien Forest Protection Department have closely coordinated and followed the instructions on care and nutrition for the cubs, ensuring their fitness and rescue as quickly as possible.

Baby bear named Bamboo (Bamboo), is cared for according to the special regime of cubs immediately upon receipt, with 24/7 care staff. Rescue bear cubs were brought back in the night, ensuring health and safety.

Up to now, Bamboo is the 13th bear that has been rescued by Animals Asia from Dien Bien province within 16 years of operation.
