Summoning Triumph Trident 660 in Vietnam because the stand is not stiff enough

Using poor quality components from the supplier, the Trident 660 motorcycle stand is not stiff enough to support the vehicle when stopping.

The Vietnam Register has just issued a notice to recall 83 Trident 660s imported from Thailand, manufactured in the period 7/2-15/5/2021. The cause of the recall is that the vehicle’s stand can be bent over time, leading to an angle of inclination when the vehicle is erected beyond the original design.

The distributor’s representative said that the company provided components that used poor quality materials, not strong enough to produce support legs, causing the Triumph Trident 660 vehicles to fail. This recall in Vietnam is part of the global recall plan of the British motorcycle company (except for the Chinese market).

The recall and free replacement of faulty footrests on Trident 660 vehicles in Vietnam starts from May 30, 2022 to May 25, 2024. Checking and replacement time is less than 10 minutes.

Triumph Trident 660 belongs to the line of roadster motorcycles aimed at young people, launched in Vietnam on April 2. The car is imported from its factory in Thailand, priced at 269.9 million VND.

Trident 660 is equipped with a 3-cylinder engine, capacity of 660 cc, capacity of 79.8 horsepower, maximum torque of 64 Nm. 6-speed gearbox.

Triumph is distributed by Al Naboodah, which currently sells two other motorcycle brands, Harley-Davidson (USA) and Husqvarna (Austria). Previously, the company also distributed Royal Enfiled motorcycles (India) but stopped from March 2021. Royal Enfield, after a period of finding new partners, will return to business in 2022 under the distributor CT Wearnes, which sells luxury car brands such as Bentley, Aston Martin (UK) and Ducati motorcycles (Italy).
